TASTER SESSIONS & ACADEMIC TRANSITION
So, now you know us, it’s time to get subject specific… Narrowing from 10+ subjects to just three is a real challenge, so we’ve put together some specific induction materials in each of the A Level subjects that you are completing.
For each subject you are taking we want you to engage in a ‘taster session’ and complete ‘academic transition tasks’. We have also provided you with a ‘curriculum map’ so you can see what you will be studying over the course of the next 2 years.
Each of the taster sessions get you to experience the subject that you wish to study in September. Once you’ve attended the taster sessions for your three A Levels you need to start thinking about the summer learning (we call them ‘summer transition tasks’) which we have asked you to complete before September. This is important as the tasks have been designed to give you the very best start to your A Level courses. Indeed, your teachers will expect you to bring the work from these summer transition tasks with you at the start of the academic year. Please note some of the transition tasks also have supporting documents and you will find these below. We understand that you may not complete the transition tasks until after you have been formally admitted into the 6th Form after GCSE results have been released.
