A level Subject Choice

This is a highly academic Sixth Form and all students prepare for GCE ‘A’ Levels. You need to ensure that you will meet the general entry criterion of 8 9-5 grades, including English Language and Maths, as well as the subject specific entry criteria. We are not able to admit students who do NOT meet these requirements. If you are not on course to meet these entry requirements then it is absolutely critical that you have an additional post-16 plan of action.

We do not use ‘option blocks’ – please select your three 1st choice subjects.

You must choose THREE DIFFERENT A Level subjects as your first choices:
Further Maths Option: If you wish to study BOTH Maths and Further Maths, must select Maths as one of your 1st three choices and then tick the box below

You must choose TWO reserve A Level subjects as your ‘backup’ choices, in the rare case that we are still able to offer you a place if you fail to meet the grades on your first 3 choices.

Once students enter the Sixth Form in September 2021, they will also have the option of broadening their curriculum. We hope to offer an EPQ and for some very high achieving students, a 4th A level. This will be coordinated once you join us.

The School will make every effort to offer all students, who meet the entry criteria, via their offer letter their first choice combination.

Please note that once you have selected the 5 choices above, these cannot be changed until results day in August.

Please note that any eventual offer will be based on a combination of 3 specific A Levels and students must meet the terms of this offer. If a student wishes to change their A Level choices following results day, it may be difficult to accommodate these wishes. Please ensure that you research your choices carefully so that you are not in this position.

- All students will be admitted onto THREE A Level course programmes of study,
- Admission into the Sixth Form is open to students gaining a minimum entry qualification of at least 8 9-5 grades (including English Language and Mathematics).
- Each post-16 course has its own entry criteria. Consequently to gain admission on to the Sixth Form, all applicants, whether internal or external, will be required to meet the specific entry grade requirements for each course they seek to take as outlined in the admission prospectus. These grades are non-negotiable.
