Welcome to the Coopers Coborn Parents’ & Friends Association page from all of the parents involved with the PFA. When our children are at secondary school, it becomes difficult to become involved in school life and meet other parents in the same way that we may have done at the primary school gates, because many of us work. One way to become involved is to become part of the PFA!
The PFA is a friendly group of parents that meet on a monthly basis to put on fundraising events that raise money to provide things such as a minibus, lighting equipment in the theatre, podcasting equipment, etc that enhance the teaching and learning of all the students – you may already have seen the all weather seating and table tennis tables that we provided when you visited the school.
It is so important that the PFA has enough support from Parents to keep going strong and to keep making money for the school. Parents can join the group whenever they want to, there are no rules when to join and everyone is made to feel welcome.
Throughout the years we have raised thousands of pounds towards enhancing the school’s facilities. Every department at the school benefits from the funds raised, which in turn is of benefit for all of our children. Some of our fundraising schemes are the 500 Club, the Supermarket Voucher Scheme, which doesn’t cost you anything, the Boot Sales and Indoor Table Top Sales etc… Please see how to contact and get in touch if you would like to be part of our fundraising efforts. Keep an eye out also for our regular quiz nights, discounted theatre trips and grand draws.
If you’re new to the school, or if you’ve already got a child at school and have not been to a meeting before, you’re very welcome to attend as we look forward to meeting new parents all the time. No need for an invitation, just turn up on the night. Ideas for fundraising events are always needed. In these days of tighter budgets, the PFA performs an important role in providing equipment that benefits all of our students. The more people that get involved, the more your sons and daughters will gain.
We look forward to seeing you at our meetings and some of our events.
Our next meetings will be in the dining hall at 7.30pm, please join us.

PFA Supermarket Vouchers
Did you know that you can make money for the school just by shopping? Sainsburys allow us to make money through their voucher schemes. All you need to do is set up a standing order with us for however much you choose each month and you will get a Sainsbury’s gift card which is topped up automatically each month with the amount you chose. It doesn’t cost you anything but the school make 5% profit for each transaction. Contact Carol Mills if you are interested on firstname.lastname@example.org.

The PFA’s very own Lottery! It’s easy to get involved – and for only £1 per month!
Email us for a form and a number; then either return it with a cheque for £6 or £12 (that’s for 6 or 12 months) or set up a payment from your online bank account £1 per month, £6 for 6 months or £12 for 12 months) and sit back and wait for the cash to roll in. Half the money raised goes to the PFA for spending on your children and half is used for prize money.
