It is a real pleasure to be able to welcome you, provisionally, to our fantastic 6th Form community. Today is the start of a formative two-year journey leading to either further study at university or full-time employment.

We are delighted to re-introduce our in-person induction on either the 4th or 5th July, but also want to provide you with additional materials to support your transition to becoming a 6th Form student. We would certainly recommend that you spend some time looking at all sections of the school website so that you can gain a fuller picture of what our 6th Form will be like. To start with, please watch the 3 videos below:

Mission Statement

The Coopers’ Company and Coborn School is a dynamic, inclusive, co-educational school. Inspired by our historic tradition of ‘Love as Brethren’, we strive to be outstanding in everything we do, producing young people who have the confidence, qualifications, experience and aspiration to be successful in the 21st Century world.

So, now you know us, it’s time to get subject specific… Narrowing from 10+ subjects to just three is a real challenge, so we’ve put together some specific induction materials in each of the A Level subjects that you are completing.

For each subject you are taking we want you to engage in a ‘taster session’ and complete ‘academic transition tasks’. We have also provided you with a ‘curriculum map’ so you can see what you will be studying over the course of the next 2 years.

Each of the taster sessions get you to experience the subject that you wish to study in September. Once you’ve attended the taster sessions for your three A Levels you need to start thinking about the summer learning (we call them ‘summer transition tasks’) which we have asked you to complete before September. This is important as the tasks have been designed to give you the very best start to your A Level courses. Indeed, your teachers will expect you to bring the work from these summer transition tasks with you at the start of the academic year. Please note some of the transition tasks also have supporting documents and you will find these below. We understand that you may not complete the transition tasks until after you have been formally admitted into the 6th Form after GCSE results have been released.

It’s also really important that we provide you with some information as well.

In the list below you will find some of the other information we would like you to look at before September.

We want to do all we can to continue to support your educational transition.

In the past few years you have missed significant time in school and we are conscious that we need to do all we can to support the transition to the next stage of your education. As such, here are a range of activities that you could engage with over the coming months to support your educational transition
