"The Year 9 show this year was 'Hope Springs' by Richard Conlon. More than fifty pupils auditioned - more than any previous year! Rehearsals started in February and we all got to know the play really well. Through the course of the year many students’ acting skills improved vastly, as we learnt how to control our energy and focus. During rehearsals we also grew to understand the meanings and inner values of the characters in the play.

As the rehearsals drew to a close, many people were worried about lines. Fortunately, the teachers were there to give us confidence and with the help of our assistant directors, we improved our lines.

When the shows started, everyone was pretty nervous, but held it together and the first show was great success. Both casts worked very hard and the show went very smoothly. Throughout the course of the shows we had a couple of minor problems, but they were sorted out quickly with the help of the amazing tech team! Overall, the shows went fantastically well and everyone was part of the ‘buzz’ at the end of the last show. It was a shame to finish, but the pressure was off our shoulders, and we were all so happy that we had completed all of the shows and auditioned in the first place!"
