Havering Big Dance Roadshow

Following the success of the Schools Pledge launch in Upminster Park on 23rd May 2008 the Havering Sports Partnership at Coopers Coborn School has teamed up with Next Generation and Gidea Park Peugeot to produce a Havering Big Dance Roadshow which will visit a number of schools within the Borough during Big Dance week 7th to 11th July 2008. As part of the Schools Pledge all schools have agreed to participate in an extra 15 minutes of dance or physical activity to music every day for that week. The roadshow will call at participating schools with a dance instructor who will lead all pupils and staff in a 15 minute physical activity session in the playground or on the school field. The schedule of schools is shown below.

On Friday 11th July at 1pm a large number of Schools will be performing their own dance routines on their own school sites to “What Time is it?” from High School Musical 2. The roadshow will be at Towers Junior and Infant Schools to celebrate this along with a number of Dignitaries from the Borough.

As part of an ongoing commitment to increased physical activity and sport during the run up to the 2012 Olympic Games, Havering Schools will also be performing the Havering Big Dance in Romford Market Place as part of the Cultural Olympiad Celebrations on 28th September 2008.
